Thank you so much for finding yourself here.
624 is a portrait project taken over the course of a year - 2024.
Having just moved to a new city, I set myself a goal to shoot 1 roll of film per week in a bid to just explore London. I was off to a slow start after Christmas, leaving my new camera at my parents house in Leeds , but this two week set back gave me time to really think through the project I wanted to undertake.
I decided to focus on people—more specifically, portraiture. However clichéd it might sound, I wanted to strip away bias and inequality in how my subjects were represented. So, I chose to shoot exclusively in black and white, and to limit myself to just one frame per person.
Each roll gives me 12 shots.
12 portraits a week.
Over 52 weeks, that’s 624 portraits—each one considered, each one its own moment.
